The Play’s The Thing

This exciting and fun-filled production introduces primary school children to the world of Shakespeare. Using scenes from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Tempest, Twelfth Night, Romeo and Juliet and more, we create an accessible and highly enjoyable journey through Shakespeare’s plays. The use of narration and a lively performance style ensure understanding from the children, without having to compromise on the language.

We have marked this day as the day the Globe Players introduced over 400 of our children to William Shakespeare and began a love for his works that will last them a lifetime.Dr. Triplett’s Primary School.

The lively and energetic actors pack the show with scenes from some of Shakespeare’s best known plays,’ Abigail Fuller, The Primary Times. Click here for the full review, from The Edinburgh Festival 2015

What to Expect.

Though we are quite used to adapting to circumstances, generally speaking this production will be performed at one end of your hall, the children sitting on the floor. We will create an aisle and a ‘thrust stage’ performance space, but don’t worry: we will help seat the pupils to avoid confusion! We aim to arrive half an hour before the scheduled start time, to ensure we are fully prepared before the children arrive for the show.
